We saw the first salmon of the season returning to Piper’s Creek on Friday, 10/22. We performed a survey on Saturday and found six Chum (mostly males), one Coho and one salmon we were unable to positively ID as it was in a deep, murky pool.
CWCAP volunteers will be performing surveys every Tuesday and Saturday morning, starting at 9:00am. We will continue until the run is over, usually the first or second week of December.
Salmon Stewards will be in the park every Saturday and Sunday, from 11am to 2pm, November 6th through December 5th. They are there to help protect the salmon and answer visitors’ questions. Please respect the salmon and the volunteers’ instructions regarding viewing the salmon.
