Every week February to May, Imprint Pond Stewards open the Salmon Imprint Compound to the public so that salmon fry can be fed and the community and schools can participate.
Each weekly slot takes about 30 minutes depending on the amount of food needed and the number of park visitors encountered. Weekend slots tend to require more time when the park has generally more visitors.
Your weekly slot is yours each and every week between February and May. Substitutes are available and it is very helpful if you plan ahead so a substitute can be scheduled.
Morning weekly slots are targeted for around 8:00 AM in the 6-9 AM range. If 10 AM is better for you, let us know.
Mid-day weekly slots are targeted for 12 Noon in the 11-1 PM range. If earlier or later than this range is better for you, let me know.
Evening weekly slots are targeted for 3:30-4:30 PM. This late afternoon slot will continue to go later as the springtime days get longer. Be sure you leave yourself time to complete the evening feeding before it gets to dark since there is no lighting on the trail to and from the imprint pond.
