Join us around 6:00PM this Wednesday, March 22nd for our first release of imprinted salmon! We’ll pull the plug to release the salmon at 6:30PM so make sure you’re there before then!
We will be releasing thousands of salmon fry from the Les Malmgren Imprint Pond into Venema Creek. CWCAP volunteers have been raising these salmon for the past month to improve their chance of survival and help them return to Carkeek in the future. Watch them as they make their way through the creeks and out to the Puget Sound.
Where is the imprint pond?
The trail to the imprint pond begins right at the bottom of the hill of NW Carkeek Park Rd. Look for our Feeding Salmon Fry sign right before the lower meadow parking lot.
