The streams have become quiet as another salmon return at Carkeek park has come to an end. Thanks to our 41 volunteers who put in tons of hours this season to collect data from the huge number of fish. We also had a ton of great conversations with park visitors with over 2400 visitor interactions recorded. It’s always empowering to see the passion visitors have for the salmon run and they asked us tons of great questions this year.
Preliminary totals indicate a return of approximately 3000 chum salmon but we’ll have finalized numbers for you shortly.
