The streams have become quiet as another salmon return at Carkeek park has come to an end. Thanks to our 41 volunteers who put in tons of hours this season to collect data from the huge number of fish. We also had a ton of great conversations with park visitors with over 2400 visitor interactions

It’s salmon carcass central down at Carkeek Park as the salmon are completing their spawning mission. The once active streams have become much quieter as salmon carcasses pile up along the banks. While several hundred live fish remain in the creeks visitors will likely see more carcasses than live fish. Surveyors bring two Chum carcasses
