The numbers of salmon in Carkeek Park have spiked significantly in the last week. Over 180 salmon were spotted on Tuesday with spawning activity happening throughout Piper’s Creek. The sustained rains likely helped bring in more fish and allowed them to travel further upstream. Several salmon have even reached Venema Creek up near the imprint

The salmon run has begun at Carkeek Park! Dozens of fish have been spotted in the lower sections of Piper’s Creek and the estuary.
